A seeker is not one who finds, but one who finds joy in the act of searching, and that’s how this adventure began. A small group of crazy adventurers set off from Madrid with the goal of placing the DOBLE flag on the highest peak in the world, unaware that this journey would leave a mark on us forever.
What had to happen, happened. After so many turns and relocations, one doesn’t realize that destiny always has greater plans prepared than the ones we can make ourselves.
That’s how we ended up in Kavrepalanchowk, a district in Nepal, where we discovered a basic education school with 103 years of history that seemed frozen in time.
The soul of a village lost in the heart of Nepal that helps society by doing the most essential thing: educating future generations — because without education, we are doomed to fail.
Often, living in the whirlwind of the society we inhabit, it becomes easier to complain about everything, but distance and perspective show us that none of this makes sense — that one can be truly happy with less, and that if we can afford it, we have a moral obligation to help those in need.
Like a revelation — one of those that happens without knowing why, perhaps because of the situation, the environment, the people, or simply our nature of not settling for being mere spectators of what surrounds us — we decided to sponsor an entire school: SHREE PANAUTI BASIC SCHOOL. We improved its infrastructure, provided materials for the 283 children currently studying there, as well as better resources for the 14 teachers and 4 volunteers.
Education is one of the pillars on which modern society is built. Contributing to the education of future generations is the best way to help people move forward. This is a long-term effort — we know it won’t be easy, but we want to help achieve their internal goal: to be able to accommodate the more than 400 children who have requested admission to the school but have not yet been able to enter.
An unexpected encounter that has given more to us than to them, because after all, we only provided material well-being that helps
And that’s how we learned that being at the top doesn’t only mean being the best in your field (though that too), it means doing the right thing when you have the opportunity to do so.
